From the Pastor’s Desk – February 2019
As we usher in a new year, we also usher in a new Pastor here at EAFUMC. Please read below and Welcome our New Pastor, Rev. Edward Granadosin.
Edward Granadosin was born Jan 21, 1965 in Manila Philippines. He is the youngest of 6 boys of Bishop and Mrs. Paul Locke Granadosin who served the Philippines Annual Conference from 1968-2000. He comes from a singing family, since Mrs. Socorro Granadosin, their mother, is a graduate of sacred music, somehow, her gift was passed on to the 6 boys who eventually formed a group called THE GRANADOSIN BROTHERS. This group became a strong tool in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song and evangelistic gatherings of the United Methodist Church in the Philippines when the Bishop was still alive. As a family, they made an impact in encouraging the Church through concerts and performances. But most of all they have touched the lives of people about Christ’s love and salvation.
Edward at one point became an entertainer because he was the only one who pursued Music as a career. A graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Music, he Majored in voice, a the premier State University in the Philippines under the guidance of the late Professor Andrea O. Veneracion, founder and Director of the world renowned Philippine Madrigal singers. As a musician on his own, he became a concert artist, a recording artist, did many TV appearances and a TV/Radio commercial voice talent. He has traveled extensively as a singer namely, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, Monaco, Spain, Canada, Mexico and the United States of America. But with all these achievements, knowledge gained and expertise, God found his way to transform his path into servanthood as a follower of Christ. In 2010 at Las Vegas, he said yes to God’s call to be in the ministry. In 2014, the North District office of Desert South-west Conference Phoenix AZ USA, appointed him as Local Pastor assigned for the Filipino Americans in the Las Vegas area called Grace Fil-Am Ministry. The goal is to establish a new and healthy faith community of The United Methodist Church. Worships regularly, celebrate the Sacraments, grounded with Wesley’s teachings and theology and teach the word of God and develop disciples for CHRIST. With the declining numbers of Church goers, not only among The United Methodists but other mainline Denominations, Pastor Granadosin is committed…. to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
