Mission Moment- Sleep in Heavenly Peace Shelly Harvey
Opening Prayer: Creating God, how deeply you know us. In the mystery of your love, you see who we are and who we might become. Our bodies are your creation; they are wonderfully made. Our minds reflect your handiwork. Our spirits are a gift from you. You call us by name and invite us to follow. Lead us now into the depths of your love. Amen.
Passing of the Peace: (L)The Peace of Christ be with you
(P) And Also with you.
Opening Hymn: Trading my Sorrows & God of Wonders
CALL TO CONFESSION
Romans 10:9-10 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is LORD,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. So, let us draw near to God with sincerity and confidence, and pray together.
Prayer of Confession: O God, you call to us. We hear you, but aren’t sure who is calling. We hear you, but are distracted by many things. We hear you, but are afraid to answer. Open our hearts to your voice. Help us set aside our doubts, our fears, and our distractions, that we may answer you faithfully. Amen.
Words of Assurance: God searches us, knows us, loves us, and forgives us. God’s love shelters us and keeps us safe. Passing the Peace of Christ (Ps 139) Each one of us is wonderfully made, the creation of God’s love. As you greet one another, marvel at God’s wondrous works!
