Worship Service – March 28, 2021
10:15am In-person and Live Stream Worship
Opening Prayer: Holy Brother, you have come in God’s name and for our sake. You have entered our souls in moments of shouted Hosannas and waving cloaks. And you have come just the same to our late nights and our confused hearts. Come to us again, Dear One, and let us follow you. Let your name be on our tongues and in our hearts.
Passing of the Peace: (L)The Peace of Christ be with you
(P) And Also with you.
Opening Song: Hosanna
CALL TO CONFESSION
1 John 4:2-3: By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. So, let us draw near to God with sincerity and confidence, and pray together.
Prayer of Confession: Mercy of Mercies, where you go we have often been afraid to follow. Sometimes the sorrows of our lives blind us to the pain in the lives of others. Even yours. When we are spent with sorrow, when our years are filled with sighting, when our souls waste away, when we can barely speak your name—we find it hard to trust your presence, though you have already made yourself humbled and broken, just like us. Help us place our trust in you, no
matter the cost. Our times are in your hands. Give us the strength to stay by your side. Amen.
Words of Assurance: God sustains the weary with a word, and so shall God sustain us. The Holy One who helps us will not let us be put to shame. Christ stands with us, bringing us the grace of our longing.

Doxology
Offertory Prayer: Gracious God, you have given us blessing beyond measure: hearts of mercy, hands of grace, and the presence of Christ in our souls and in our lives. We can never repay what we have received, so help us carry it forward. May we use the gifts of hearts and hands to sustain the weary in word and in deed. May we be awakened to all who long for God’s peace, and have courage enough to walk with them.
